Still making a slow comeback to the running scene. We ran 7 miles on Saturday and 3.3 miles Monday. We will get in two more runs before the Crescent City Classic, and I have made up my mind to TRY to take it easy this weekend and not push TOO much. It won’t be easy, though. I always get this adrenaline rush at the beginning of a race and I want to take off.
I haven’t been cleared from the doctor yet. I was supposed to go today, but I decided to wait until next week. I didn’t want to hear any bad news or news about not running the race. I will take a HPT within the next two days and hopefully that will ease my mind.
As I have mentioned in the past, our local grocery store usually doesn’t have a very large selection. I was pleasantly surprised to find Easy Squeezy™ Squeeze Packs made by Peanut Butter & Co. These squeeze packs are available in 3 different flavors – “Smooth Operator” peanut butter, “Dark Chocolate Dreams” peanut butter, and “The Bee’s Knees” peanut butter. I initially bought the squeeze pack for its convenience. I wanted to be able to have peanut butter in my hotel room on the morning of a race. Only later did I realize that it is an all-natural peanut butter, gluten-free, and certified vegan. Also, it’s made without high fructose corn syrup and hydrogenated oil!
This is the perfect product to have in your purse, suitcase, or lunchbox. The packaging is durable so it travels well. The 1.5 oz snack-size is the ideal size to keep in your purse or briefcase for days when you forget to bring your lunch to work or need a quick snack.
I don’t have a favorite, because they are all yummy! I usually eat the “Smooth Operator” peanut butter. It’s a plain, creamy peanut butter. It’s great on celery and apples. I also like to squeeze the peanut butter onto a banana for energy on race day.
The Dark Chocolate Dreams peanut butter and The Bee’s Knees peanut butter are great, tasty treats. The Bee’s Knees is an all-natural peanut butter with honey. The Dark Chocolate Dreams is a divine treat that I occasionally indulge in for dessert.
