Nature & Crawfish

I believe that there is a subtle magnetism in Nature, which, if we unconsciously yield to it, will direct us aright.  ~Henry David Thoreau

This week we were faced with a full day of rain on Monday. We were able to take advantage of a short break in the rain and run 3.65 miles. For some reason this short run seemed more difficult than the 22miles on Saturday. Tuesday was a day of rest. Wednesday we ran 8 miles. This run felt better than Monday’s run. I was able to focus and my legs felt better. I think Tuesday’s rest really helped.

Since this is my last week of Christmas vacation, I am trying to enjoy what remains. I love to be outside enjoying nature and during this break I was able to spend a night at a friend’s camp on the river near my house. This was taken while I was standing on the pier. I love the reflection of the trees in the water.

This thorn tree was very intriguing to me.

Nature brings peace and tranquility to my spirit.

Another special treat that I have had during my time off is crawfish! We were able to have 2 crawfish boils, and the crawfish are looking nice.

I am looking forward to a few more days off filled with running, relaxing, and hopefully more nature.

Thanks for making some time to come see us. I know it was the holidays and that was hard, but we sure were glad to see you!
