Long Run & “Country” Cross Training

Saturday was another long run down our small country roads. Eventhough some of the fields are bare, they are beautiful and freshly plowed.

The long, slow run is probably my favorite training day. It is relaxing and usually peaceful running the small country roads in the morning. On this past Saturday, it was a foggy morning and tiny droplets of water clung to our eyelashes. It felt like I had on those fake eyelashes with little diamonds. I had to laugh as I imagined myself running with no makeup, yet tiny diamonds were delicated adhered to my lashes as I ran down this country road:

After the morning run, the afternoon consisted of cross training. Well, if you count lifting 185 crawfish traps as cross training…
